From 8th – 10th September 2025, Claytex attended and exhibited at the 16th International Modelica Conference in Rotkreuz not far from Lucerne in Switzerland. Claytex are a regular exhibitor at Modelica conferences over the years and a keen presenter of work we have undertaken internally as well as customer projects and product updates.
The International Modelica Conference is a wonderful opportunity to meet up with customers, other Modelica Library developers and general users of the language in a friendly non-competitive environment where information exchange is prevalent. This year Hannah and Alex attended and exhibited at the conference.

On Monday we delivered the Vendor Session presentation which went down very well. We had limited overlap with third party solutions and demonstrated a very strong knowledge, Modelica libraries and capability in the field of vehicle modelling and systems integration across many other industries.
We were able to also show the versatility of the application libraries, in particular VeSyMA – Powertrain, originally applied for modelling vehicle drivelines, also used successfully for the simulation of submarine and wind turbine drive trains as well as the much smaller scale of high-end mechanical watch mechanisms.

On Monday evening we dined in Lucerne with some good customers in a typical local restaurant. It was a very enjoyable evening discussing both work and a range of other topics too.
Tuesday evening after a productive day of talking to other vendors and customers, the delegates boarded a dinner cruise boat which took us around lake Lucerne with pretty spectacular views!

On Wednesday afternoon we were delighted to also be supporting two of our customers; Dallara and Hyundai in presenting the work they did with us in 2025.
Race Car Braking System Thermal Model for Real Time Use in a Driving Simulator Dallara & Claytex

Followed by:
Development of a Multi-Physical Simulation Platform for Durability Prediction for Hyundai & Kia Electric Vehicles Hyundai, Claytex, Dassault Systèmes

In summary I would say the range of applications for the Modelica language was broad this year with a distinct focus on model optimization and AI integration with the modelling tasks. We look forwards to the next Modelica conference and continuing the work in interesting subject areas that we will be presenting.
Last but not least, every person we spoke to showed appreciation for our blog posts on the subject of all things Dymola and Modelica. We are ramping up the frequency of the posts again and look forward to hearing from you with any suggested subject areas that you want to put forwards for us to write about.
